We believe your reading habits and files are strictly your own business. ND Epub Reader utilizes a client-side architecture. When you upload an EPUB or load one via a URL, the file is processed entirely within your local device memory using JavaScript. We do not upload, store, or index your books on our servers.
Understanding CORS (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing)
Our tool allows you to read EPUBs directly from remote URLs. However, the internet relies on a security protocol called CORS. If the server hosting the remote EPUB has strict CORS policies, it will actively block your browser from accessing the file through our interface.
If you encounter a loading error when using a URL, this is the likely culprit. To bypass CORS restrictions, you can either:
- Download the EPUB file to your device and use the "Upload" button instead.
- Pass the URL through a secure CORS-bypassing proxy service.
